MAINERS SELECTED AS MUSEUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

 

Alison Mainers, Development Officer for the SNOMNHNorman resident Alison Mainers has been selected as the new development officer for the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History in Norman. Mainers is in charge of fundraising and membership activities for the museum, as well as cultivation of corporate sponsorships and stewardship of museum donors.

Mainers comes to the museum from Chesapeake Energy, where she recently served as scholarship coordinator in the corporation’s communication division. She also has served as campus community life coordinator for the OU Health Sciences Center.

Mainers received her Bachelor’s in business administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a Master’s of Education with an emphasis in student personnel services from the University of Oklahoma.

“Alison has a combination of enthusiasm and professionalism that will serve her well as development officer for the museum,” said museum director Ellen Censky. “She is committed to higher education in general and to the educational mission of the museum in particular. We are looking forward to working with her and introducing her to our corporate partners and donors.”

“I’m excited to work with the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History,” Mainers said. “The museum serves as a cultural center for the entire state of Oklahoma – scientists, students, artists, historians and naturalists are just as fascinated as our everyday children and adult visitors. It is an incredibly unique and special place. I look forward to expanding the museum’s relationships with people who love the university, museums and natural history.”
