MUSEUM OFFERS FREE ADMISSION, KIDS ACTIVITIES FOR ANNUAL “EGGSTRAVAGANZA”
Eager egg hunters can get a jump on spring at the annual “Eggstravaganza” presented by The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History and the University of Oklahoma J.C. Penney Leadership Program from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12. This free public event features a giant egg hunt, plus a host of activities, games and fun for kids in pre-k through fifth grade.
Eggstravaganza features free museum admission and extended museum hours from 4 to 7 p.m., plus face painting, crafts, a moon bounce, photos with the bunny, balloon animals and games, including three-legged races, sack races, a cookie walk and pick-a-duck. The activities are organized by the students of the J.C. Penney Leadership Program, part of the OU Michael F. Price College of Business.
The egg hunt begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. and takes place on the museum’s front lawn. The area is divided into age categories, to give littler egg hunters a chance to get their fair share. More than 4,000 eggs will be scattered over the entire area.
“Eggstravaganza is a popular and fun family event,” said museum event coordinator Dejah Kennedy. “The kids really enjoy all the activities, in addition to the egg hunt, and it’s a great opportunity for families to come visit the museum after work during the week.”
The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is located on the OU Norman campus. For more information, call (405) 325-4712, or visit the museum’s Web site: www.snomnh.ou.edu.
