College Savings Plan Sponsors Free Admission at Museum
on Oklahoma Statehood Day
In honor of the state’s centennial celebration, the Oklahoma College Savings Plan (OCSP) is proud to sponsor a day of free admission at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History on Oklahoma’s Statehood Day, Friday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is located at 2401 Chautauqua Avenue on the University of Oklahoma Norman campus.
Visitors to the museum on Statehood Day will be able to enjoy “Collecting Oklahoma,” the museum’s Centennial exhibition, featuring objects and specimens collected from across the state over the museum’s more than 100-year history. The exhibit includes the 27-foot long backbone of an elasmosaur – a marine reptile that swam in the ancient seas that covered Oklahoma more than 90 million years ago. Also on display are beautiful Native American objects, archaeological artifacts, and specimens of Oklahoma animals both ancient and modern. “Collecting Oklahoma” will be on view through Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 21.
“The Oklahoma College Savings Plan has an exceptional partnership with the museum that allows us to build awareness about the importance of saving for college. It gives us an opportunity to explain to more families, especially families with young children, the program’s benefits,” said State Treasurer Scott Meacham who is chair of the OCSP Board of Trustees. “A college education is so important and very attainable if you start saving now.”
